AUTHOR, JOHN S. GEDDES

Since the late 1970’s, John Geddes has worked with owner-managed companies, providing consulting services through his own firm or in his role as regional vice president of a bank that offered consulting to small and medium sized organizations.

During this time, he developed a special interest in succession planning and strategy work and now focuses his practice on facilitating strategy and succession processes for clients.

Through consulting, speaking and writing, John’s own company, Planning Dynamics Inc. assists owner-managed businesses in developing realistic, action-oriented and profitable plans to manage successful change in their organizations. This book, John’s first is based on his experience with over 200 companies in a number of different industries.

John is a member of the Family Firm Institute (FFI), an international professional organization dedicated to providing inter-disciplinary education and networking opportunities for family business consultants, educators, researchers and family wealth advisors. John is a certified Family Business Advisor through FFI and a Certified Management Consultant.

John is married to Nell and they have two daughters, Jen and Carrie. He spends his spare time enjoying boating and cottage life.
